Easter with Oma and Opa

Oma and Opa are here for a visit and they came just in time to celebrate Easter with us!  Here are a few snapshots of our festivities together this weekend.  Some things not depicted here are the kids, Oma and I dying eggs together.  Olli was thoughtful enough to get the kids Disney-themed stickers and egg wraps to go on their dyed eggs--the kids were very excited about this.  Lukas had Lightning McQueen and Isa had Disney-Princesses.  The kids woke up to Easter Egg Baskets filled with kites, paint-by-number kits and walkie-talkies. We also enjoyed Lamb with Greek Peas and Potatoes and we played the "Egg Game" while saying "Christos Anesti" and "Alithos Anesti" to each other around the table as we "whacked" the eggs together in pairs.  Isabel won the game!

The Tsoureki Bread I made this year (minus the red eggs that are traditionally included)

Lukas, Isabel, our neighbor Lottie and the rest of the kids waiting to be released to pick up as many of the 2,500 eggs scattered on the field as they can
And they're off!!
Isabel, Lottie and Lukas after the egg hunt.  Lukas had the greatest success because he ran to the end of the field to collect eggs, while Isa and Lottie gathered them as they ran along

The kids with Om and Opa--look how well they color coordinate without even planning it!

Lukas and Isabel before beginning the Easter Egg Hunt in our own backyard.  Olli actually hides these eggs so that it really is a "hunt" rather than simply gathering them like at DCH.
Isabel found her first egg!
Lukas found his first egg!
All 16 eggs have been found--Lukas found the special golden egg
