Thank goodness for a leap year since it gives me one more day to get this post up during the month of February. This month flew by for us! Unfortunately, it went by so quickly that I forgot to take photos of many of our activities. Some of the un-photographed highlights included a birthday party for one of Lukas' friends in a gymnastics hall, a children's concert by the Toe Jam Puppet Band, a story time at Barnes and Noble with a meet-and-greet with Clifford The Big Red Dog afterward, and a trip to the MassArt exhibit on Family Day where the kids interacted with the art on display by making their own art along the same themes.
Here are a few photo highlights that I did manage to take during the month.
| Isabel wearing a complimentary firefighter hat that Lukas received after a presentation by a fireman at his preschool at the beginning of the month. She wears it around the house quite often--sometimes in its backwards position, which makes her look more like a cowgirl than a firefighter, but we think it's cute any-which-way she wears it! |
| Along the same "hat theme": This is Isabel wearing the "crown" that she made in her "Messy, Mess" art class at a nearby Rec-Center. You can't see the hand-prints she made on the side in various different colors, but if the crown lasts long enough, it will make a nice keepsake of her hand-size as a two-year-old. |
| Another theme of Isabel: Photos with her mouth open! This is Isabel riding a small carousel at the Valentine's Day party we attended as members of our community's parent/family group. The party was held at a nearby indoor play place that features, in addition to the carousel, several riding toys, a climbing structure, a child-sized playhouse and a child-sized firetruck. |
| Lukas at the Valentine's Day party dressed as a fire-fighter and riding a red motorcycle. |
| A classic photo of Lukas showing three of his main passions. Here he is riding a John Deere tractor loaded with all the construction vehicles he could find and wearing a firefighter's hat. |
| Here he is driving the fire truck. He was definitely busy that evening and enjoyed every minute of it--although you wouldn't have guessed it due to the lack of smiles in these photos! :-) |
