We just returned from a long weekend in Wachenheim, Germany where Olli's sister lives. We were there to celebrate the baptism of our nine-week-old nephew, Julius, on Easter Sunday. It was a wonderful time with family and we enjoyed gorgeous weather every day we were there.
Unfortunately, we don't have many photos from the weekend on our own camera because we relied on Olli's dad and brother-in-law to take the majority of pictures at the different events over the weekend. We haven't yet had the chance to swap photos with them! Anyway, here a few snapshots that we did manage to take on our own camera. Enjoy! We went to a small animal park one afternoon and were there over the animals' early evening feeding time. Lukas and his cousin Sophia had a blast feeding the goats and deer.

After feeding the animals, Sophia and Lukas decided to spend some time digging in the dirt. Sophia was keen to put the petals, dirt and stones she collected into the paper bag that had once contained the food for the animals. Lukas simply picked up handfuls of dirt and moved them to another spot on the ground. :-)
There were some ponies being kept at a stable just a five minute walk from Olli's sister's house. We went there a couple of times to feed the horses some grass. Opa was sure to point out that the horses have much bigger teeth than the goats/deer the children had fed before and he told the kids to hold the grass far enough from the horses' mouths so that they wouldn't be bitten. Lukas was really listening to his Opa, and we know this because he walked around that afternoon pointing to his own teeth and saying the word "teeth" over and over.
