Lukas is now almost 12 1/2 months old as I'm finally getting around to uploading some photos from his birthday on September 6th.
His special day started off well with birthday kisses, hugs and gifts from his Oma and Opa who were in Geneva visiting us just so they could celebrate Lukas' birthday with him in person. They gave him a wooden bus, a German sailor's shirt and...

Lederhosen!
They are still a bit big for him, but we thought he looked so cute in them that we had him wear them for his birthday party later that afternoon.
Lukas with his birthday "cake" made of cupcakes in the shape of the number 1. We sang Happy Birthday and then Mommy helped him blow out the candles. The candles read "The Big One"--get the play on words?!

Here the birthday boy has opened his first gift during the party. It's a laptop--a gift from his Aunt Lesley and Uncle Derrick. He opened the lid himself and immediately started pressing the buttons and watching things light up on the screen. It was hard to motivate him to open another gift!

This is the last gift he opened. It's a "racecar" from Mommy and Papa. Lukas can ride it, push it and store things in the seat of the car. It was a bit hit and still is!

Here's Lukas sitting on his new car! (P.S. The necklace he's wearing is made of amber and is supposed to help ease the inflammation and pain of teething. He's getting 4 of his molars at the moment so he needs all the help he can get and so do we!)
I am hoping to edit some of the video footage that we made on Lukas' birthday and upload that as well so check back in a few days!
