Lukas will be 8 months old next week so I thought it would be good to put a few photos that we've taken of him over his eighth month of life. This month has held a LOT of laughter and smiles from Lukas, which in turn have caused his parents to laugh and smile a lot in response--Lukas' smiles and laughter are very contagious!
About halfway through this month, Lukas began to show signs of teething yet again. One of his top teeth is now starting to surface. It has brought Lukas a lot of pain and it's not completely out of the gums yet! He had his first ear infection (in both ears!) last week as a result of all the extra saliva in his mouth and nose on account of teething. He has been REALLY uncomfortable, but he is beginning to recover--I hope the tooth finishes its entry soon and that the next one will somehow not be so problematic and painful.
Just a few days ago Lukas began to creep around the apartment on his tummy. He really is on-the-move almost constantly! I'll try to get some video clips of him soon--it's a very comical sight since he pulls with his arms and kicks with his toes, but we're proud of this milestone nonetheless. He sometimes manages to get his knees under him and rocks back and forth on his hands and knees with his torso parallel to the floor so we'll see how long it will take him to actually crawl, but the creeping bit seems to please him enough for the moment.
Below are some photos to summarize a bit of his 8th month....

Lukas on his 7th Month Birthday

Lukas now stands up every chance he gets and likes it so much it's sometimes difficult to get him to sit down again.
(Fingers in mouth were also a common theme this month due to the teething)

A new toy--and it wasn't cheap either! :-)

Peekaboo!

Reading Lukas' favorite book. It's a pop-up alphabet book.

He likes this book so much, he can pick it out from a pile of books. (I think it helps that the book is larger than the others and lime green, which make it easy to locate!)

Lukas has learned how to put this block into the top of the giraffe toy next to him. (Only when he's sitting up of course! I'll try to get a video clip of him doing this.)

"Watch out, Papa! Here I come to put my fingers on your new camera lens!"
